2012-2013 proved a challenging season
for producing firewood to the quality that is now expected. The
reason for this was largely due to the wet summer
and lower than average temperatures followed by a wet autumn and
winter. Since the firewood was harvested in July
2011 conditions did not materialise to enable the
conventional seasoning process we normally rely on to dry the timber
to its desired state. As a trial we produce 350 bags of firewood
during the summer months by cutting the harvested wood in to log
form and storing in specially manufactured bags that allow maximum
air flow to dry the timber quicker than the traditional method.
The result was a premium product with a
moisture content of less than 20% after just a few
months, which proved very popular and sold
very quickly. During the spring and summer 2013 we will be
producing 3-4 times this quantity from our timber
felled in July 2012 and will be offering this for sale from
September for a price of £85 per bag delivered, the
quality will rival kiln dried logs but unlike kiln
dried we only use natural drying methods of hard work, wind, sun and
time, and no additional fuel ensuring our firewood remains
naturally carbon neutral. We want to give our
existing customers the opportunity to
reserve this premium wood well in advance and offer
enticing savings as a reward.

We will be cutting firewood 12 months of the
year and stock piling in specially manufactured bags that
allow maximum air flow and are designed to keep rain off. In our
trial in 2012 this produced a firewood log of less than 20%
moisture delivered to customers whatever the
weather in a dry state.
We will be offering various schemes
and discounting for you to take part in to
guarantee better firewood for next winter and many
more to come.

I am aware that this may seem a little complicated but the basic rule of thumb is the more logs you order and the earlier and more you pay in advance the great the discount earned. Please note this offer is strictly first come first served, with the anticipated sucess of this scheme we will be aiming to produce more and more premium firewood each year.
Option 1. Purchase your firewood in advance and have it
delivered to store and dry yourself. The biggest
discount will be available between 1st April to 30th June,
between 1st July and 31st August the discount
will be slightly less and from 1st
September prices
will raise to full winter price, however we
will still be offering some discounts for prepayment and
multi bag orders.
We do understand not everyone has storage for this quantity of wood therefore there are other options that may suit.
Option
2. (FULL PAYMENT UP FRONT) You will be required to
estimate your winter requirement of firewood and
Pre pay. We will dry store the firewood for you and
deliver as required during the autumn and winter
months. Any firewood reserved and not used will be
refunded on a pro rata basis. This Method will
offer the largest saving the earlier in the
year you pre pay.
Option
3. (DEPOSIT TO RESERVE YOUR PREMIUM FIREWOOD) As above, the
only difference is you place a deposit of
£25 per bag for your
estimated number of bags to see you through the
winter, the higher the deposit and the more you reserve the
greater your discount, The balance is payable on
delivery.
All premium firewood is to be sold subject to availability and on a first come first served basis.
These prices in option 1 are for bags cut and delivered to you during the months listed on a cash on delivery basis, small discounts are available for prepayment a few days before delivery

Prices are structured so that the more you order and the earlier and more you pay in advance the better the discount earned. It is advised you over estimate you requirements as we are happy to refund fully any firewood ordered and not required as we know we will not have any problems selling this at a later date.
